Hublot intensifies its commitment to the "Hublot Loves Art" programme by presenting the Classic Fusion Chronograph Shepard Fairey. Painter, graphic artist, deejay, illustrator, street artist, creator of the Obey Clothing line and skater, Fairey - also known as Obey - is probably the most politically influential artist of his generation. His works include the famous 'Obama Hope' poster, emblematic of Barak Obama's election campaign in 2008, and the painting 'Liberté, égalité, fraternité', a symbol of hope after the terrorist attacks in France in 2015. His works are exhibited in the world's most prestigious museums such as the Smithsonian in Washington, the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the MoMa in New York or the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, to name but a few. Hublot and Shepard Fairey have chosen as the basis for their second collaboration a watch from the Classic Fusion collection, on which the American artist has decided to create a work depicting a mandala, an ornamental symbol whose origins can be traced back to different cultures. The mandala represents harmony, the cycle of life and the elements, as well as the precious nature of time in the mind and is the motif engraved in brushed titanium, the material of which the bezel and the 45 mm case are made. The work continues on the dial, which is also finely carved to reveal the skeleton automatic movement, calibre HUB1155 (207 components, 60 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour), which guarantees a 42-hour power reserve. In the centre, the hands display Fairey's signature 'Star Gear' logo. The black striped rubber strap is combined with a blackened and brushed steel folding clasp. The Hublot Classic Fusion Chronograph Shepard Fairey, available in a limited edition of only 50 pieces, can be purchased in Hublot boutiques and on the Hublot e-shop. Hublot and Shepard Fairey, by mutual agreement, have decided that this watch will be used to raise funds for Amnesty International, an NGO made up of over 10 million people from 150 countries, which fights to put an end to human rights violations, in perfect harmony with the theme represented by the work engraved on the watch, namely global harmony.
