Girard-Perregaux presents the new Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition, created in collaboration with the famous British car manufacturer.
The new Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin Edition is a collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and the prestigious British automotive brand. The most distinctive feature of this new watch is its special iridescent green dial, made using a special automotive paint.
Its highly complex production process requires 14 processing steps and the application of 15 layers of ultra-thin paint, which then undergoes two firing cycles to achieve the desired appearance. The result is a iridescent effect which turns the colour from green to orange, depending on the angle of the light.
The 42 mm diameter by 12.16 mm thick case and bracelet are made of grade 5 titanium, a choice that reflects Aston Martin's philosophy of lightness and high performance. This material guarantees robustness, corrosion resistance and hypoallergenicity, while the alternating polished and satin finishes create a beautiful play of light. The bracelet has a triple folding clasp with safety buttons.
Girard-Perregaux Laureato Chronograph Aston Martin: calibre GP03300
The watch is driven by the IWC-manufactured GP03300 calibre, a self-winding mechanical movement.
The movement driving this chronograph is the manufacture calibre GP03300 (28,800 vibrations per hour, power reserve of at least 46 hours), mechanical automatic, visible through the case back closed with 6 screws and a sapphire crystal porthole decorated with the Aston Martin logo. This calibre features refined finishes such as the côtes de Genève motif on the bridges and rotor, chamfering, mirror-polished screws and perlage finish on the plate.
As for the aforementioned dial, the skeletonised and luminescent hands are inspired by the characteristic front grille of Aston Martin cars, while the hour-markers (also luminescent) and counters feature a grey PVD treatment that echoes the shade of the case.
The dial houses three additional counters with a snailed motif, for continuous seconds at 3 o'clock, chrono hours at 6 o'clock and chrono minutes at 9 o'clock. The date window is positioned between 4 and 5. Finally, water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 10 atmospheres.
