The Girard-Perregaux and Ulysse Nardin manufactures, part of the Kering Group, are gradually reopening their production sites in Switzerland as of today, 27 April, after being closed due to the Coronavirus in mid-March. In fact, KWM (Kering Watches Manufactures) was one of the first to take part in the fight against Covid-19, taking the decision to close all production sites in Le Locle and la Chaux-de-Fonds. Transition to work from home was made where possible, in particular for the marketing, human resources and commercial departments. Today, the two factories are proud to announce a gradual return to business and the reopening of the workshops of the two brands after a six-week interruption. All departments not essential to production will continue their work from home. Naturally, all watchmakers and operators who will resume work will be organised in small teams of about 35 people with staggered schedules. Strict measures will also be taken in terms of hygiene, which include disinfectant gel, face masks, a social distance of six feet between employees, Plexiglas guards in all reception areas, access for two people at a time in the changing rooms, etc.
