This new model from the House wants to celebrate the 160 years of business relations between Girard-Perregaux and Japan. The watch is made in collaboration with Darren Romanelli, a famous streetwear designer, a lover of Japan and its culture and also known by the acronym DRx. The watch plays with the concept of duality: on the dial, made of black onyx, there is the company logo in gold and leaf hands. Also noteworthy is the DRx logo, created by a metallisation process. The case, made of sand-blasted DLC steel, is 40 mm in diameter by 8.9 mm thick and is fitted with an anti-reflective sapphire crystal to protect the dial. The case back is also fitted with a sapphire crystal, this time smoked, and opens to view the GP03300-1513 calibre (diameter 25.5 mm, thickness 3.336 mm, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 218 components, 27 jewels, 46-hour power reserve), a self-winding mechanical movement. A black crocodile strap completes the watch. The Girard-Perregaux 1966 East to West is produced in a limited and numbered edition of only 18 pieces.
