The new G-Shocks Fine Metallic employ an innovative silicone strap with metal vapour deposition.
The new Fine Metallic collection by G-Shock consists of four models, all with glass-fibre reinforced resin cases and steel bezels. The real novelty, however, is the strap in double-layer silicone which, thanks to metal vapour deposition, offers a brilliant texture and a finish reminiscent of steel, as well as improved comfort at the wrist.
The models with Ref. GM-5600YM and GM-5600YMG echo the iconic shape of the first G-Shock, the DW-5000C, while those with Ref. GM-2100YM and GM-2100YMG adopt the characteristic octagonal case.
All four models feature a monochrome colour scheme for the case and strap, in total gold or total silver, and are powered by quartz movements. The two GM-5600s have a 49.6 x 43.2 mm case, while that of the GM-2100 measures 49.3 x 44.4 mm.
G-Shock Fine Metallic: new straps
The Fine Metallic uses a new silicone strap with metal vapour deposition.
The upper surface of the new double-layered silicone straps is protected by a urethane sheet to ensure greater abrasion resistance. In addition, silver or gold vapour deposition is applied to the underside of the urethane plate to create a look that harmonises with the metal bezel.
In terms of functions, the G-Shock Fine Metallic GM-5600 is equipped with a 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, multifunction alarm, flash alarm and LED backlighting (Super Illuminator).
For their part, the Fine Metallic GM-2100s are equipped with ora world (48 cities), 1/100-second stopwatch, countdown timer, 5 daily alarms, dual LED light (Super Illuminator) and analogue/digital display. Finally, all four new G-Shock Fine Metallic watches are guaranteed water-resistant to the pressure of 20 atmospheres. For more information click on this link.
