Because the Watch of the Year was created as a tool to give Italian watch enthusiasts a say in the direction they take with their preferences.
For Swiss watchmaking, sampling the tastes of Italians has always been important. Style is born here, formed by the opinions of those who have an innate culture of beauty and those who read, inform themselves and often become censors of fashions. Those that may be good for turnover, but not for the image of brands, when it comes to fine products.
Taking part in electing the Watch of the Year is a way of proclaiming what appeals to the connoisseur elite and claiming one's membership of this exclusive club.
Our award is unique in Italy, with an almost 30-year history. Its formula has undergone changes over the years, to facilitate the task of those who vote, and is based on a system of nominations, carried out by the magazine's editorial staff taking into consideration those models that are symbolic of the watchmaking year.
The watches to be voted on are divided into 12 categories to give the most complete representation of the market. In each of these you can select your favourite and express your opinion.
