In 1965 Alfa Romeo launched the Giulia GTA (an acronym that stands for 'Gran Turismo Alleggerita'), created at the Autodelta experimental centre in Balocco. In this car, Alfa Romeo proposed the best that was available at the time in terms of materials, mechanics, aerodynamics and set-up, with the aim of competing at the highest level in sports competitions and on the motoring market. This innovative car used materials that were unheard of at the time, such as aluminium and magnesium. Today, Eberhard & Co. is launching a new version of the Chrono 4 Geant dedicated to the modern version of the Alfa Romeo GTA (also offered in a GTAm version), a powerful 540-horsepower sedan capable of reaching 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds. Just like the car, the watch (in the two versions visible in the photo) will be produced in a limited edition of just 500 pieces, destined for owners of the new Giulia GTA or GTAm, a privilege that crowns the concept of an 'Experience Package' that Biscione wanted to dedicate to them. The watch employs a 46 mm titanium case (the same material used for the Akrapovič exhaust system installed on the Giulia GTA) that is water-resistant to 200 metres and is animated by the EB.251 calibre (on an ETA 2894 base), a self-winding mechanical. On the black dial are the famous 4 in-line counters, with a white background (note the Alfa Roimeo logo on the continuous seconds counter), as well as the initials GTA or GTAm at about 6 o'clock, in red or green respectively, the tachometric scale on the flange and the date at 12 o'clock. The watch can be combined with a rubber strap or a titanium bracelet.
