For the first time, eBay participated in the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry and Watch Show, North America's premier event for luxury watches and jewellery, which took place from 24 to 26 August. The presence at the show of the world's leading platform for buying and selling luxury goods online underlines its commitment to the certified pre-owned market. A commitment supported by the launch over the past year of several innovative concepts designed to improve the user experience for buying and selling luxury goods online. In September 2020, eBay launched its authenticity guarantee service for watches, providing physical authentication by independent experts on items priced over $2,000. In 2021, it added escrow for luxury watch transactions over $10,000, allowing buyers and sellers greater convenience through Escrow.com, a trusted third party that securely holds funds until the transaction is completed providing an additional layer of protection. The company said that by participating in the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show alongside leading luxury accessory brands and retailers, eBay's presence will drive the development of existing industry relationships while creating new partnerships.
