A new Avenger chronograph celebrates the long association between Breitling and the Frecce Tricolori, which has lasted over forty years.
In the early 1980s, Ernest Schneider, who had just taken over the Breitlingthe Frecce Tricolori became aware of the fact, the Pattuglia Acrobatica Nazionale Italiana, were inviting watch manufacturers to submit their proposals for what would be the official watch of the patrol. It had to be a mechanical watch, however, because for pilots the time display had to be analogue, whereas at that time quartz models were only digital.
Alongside the new electronic production, Schneider had not abandoned the mechanical watchmaking sector which - prophetically - he was convinced would make a resounding comeback. Thus took shape a new mechanical chronograph, the Chronomat, which beat the competition and which in 1983 was presented to the public as the official watch of the Frecce Tricolori, whose logo was on the dial. And this was only the beginning.
Thus began an adventure that still sees two exceptional actors united by their passion for aeronautics, technology and flying. A partnership that is now renewed by combining the name of the legendary Frecce Tricolori with a new Avenger series chronographFor over 40 years, the Frecce Tricolori have held a special place in Breitling's aviation heritage, ha said Georges Kern, CEO of the brand. "Today we are proud to dedicate our most durable aviator watch to this extraordinary team of pilots. These timepieces, while rooted in military excellence, are designed for all those seeking advanced mechanics combined with an attractive design.
