Cyrus launches the new Klepcys DICE

The innovative Klepcys DICE (an acronym that stands for Double Independent Chronograph Evolution and whose technical development is the work of master watchmaker Jean-François Mojon), offered in two limited editions of 50 pieces each, is a double chronograph capable of measuring two short times independently of each other, or in synchronisation. The approach to the creation of the new Klepcys DICE draws inspiration from the world of sport, with which Cyrus can boast a special bond, being the 'Official Timekeeper and Watch Partner' of the Formula 1 team Uralkali Haas Team. About this new watch, Mojon said: "This modern chronograph was born out of a reflection on the timing of sports competitions. In many sports, it is often important to be able to measure times run at different starts. It happens, for example, in races such as marathons or biathlons, where athletes do not cross the start line at the same time, or even in Formula 1 where two drivers start at different times during practice. In events like these, where the starting time is different for each sportsman, the Klepcys DICE chronograph can measure the times between two consecutive runners or racing drivers. A similar situation occurs in rallies, where it is common to use two independent chronographs. Our latest timepiece facilitates this operation thanks to its two single-pusher crowns, which are essential to avoid unwanted manipulations. The watch is offered in two versions, with a polished and satin-finished or sand-blasted black DLC-treated titanium case 42 mm by 16.5 thick and guaranteed water-resistant to 10 atmospheres of pressure. The two crowns, with coaxial chronograph push-piece (for chronograph start/stop/reset), are fitted with a red or blue anodised aluminium ring to better identify the chronograph being operated. The movement is visible both from the dial side and from the back, and highlights the two column wheels (in blue and red), positioned at 6 and 12 o'clock respectively. At 9 o'clock are the small seconds, while at 3 o'clock is the double chrono minute counter, with red and blue hands. In the centre, here are the two chrono seconds hands, each of a different length to correspond perfectly with the two corresponding scales. The movement used, mechanical with automatic winding, is the in-house CYR718 calibre (36 mm diameter, 11.65 mm thick, 443 components, 51 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour), which guarantees a 60-hour power reserve. This innovative calibre required the use of two different plates, treated with black PVD and finished in microbillé, to position the 218 elements of the additional module of the two independent chronographs. Finally, it should be noted that, as the chronograph mechanism is visible from the dial side, the movement has been inverted. The grey cordura strap is combined with a personalised folding clasp. The watch comes with an additional strap made of black rubber.

Prices: 31,000 euros (polished and satin-finished titanium case); 32,000 euros (titanium case with black DLC treatment).
