Audacity and innovation to subvert the rules of haute horlogerie: Cyrus Genève has distinguished itself precisely by its ability to make a real difference in a world so entrenched in traditional values. Watches such as the Klepcys Dice and the Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon bear witness to great technical skill combined with a good dose of originality in interpreting classic complications in a wholly personal way by a brand that was only founded in 2010 and that in a short space of time has managed to become one of the most interesting names on the haute horlogerie scene.
To celebrate its first 10 years in business, Cyrus chose a special version of the Klepcys Vertical Tourbillon, the watch that made the tourbillon regulator the absolute star of the dial in a central position with an axis of rotation rotated by 90°, so as to give it a vertical connotation, allowing the cage to remain upright in most positions assumed by the wrist during the course of a day. First introduced in 2018, a year later the company offered it in a skeleton version that laid bare the mechanics of the movement and all its components.
The model celebrating Cyrus' 10th anniversary is the Klepcys Vertical Skeleton Tourbillon Sapphire, a watch that has made a transparent sapphire crystal case its great innovation. Only 10 pieces, therefore, for this astonishing specimen that shows the complexity of the movement, the CYR 625 manual calibre, from every side and angle.
The transparency of the case gives even more prominence to the central bridge of the tourbillon, with its curved shape, made up of two 4N pink gold arches with bevelled and polished profiles, which divides the dial into two parts: the retrograde jumping hours are displayed on the left, the retrograde minutes on the right.
For this special edition in sapphire with white and gold accents, the company chose a white rubber strap featuring a new raised prism motif.
