Cimier 711 Pop: neo-vintage appeal

Created in 1924 by Joseph Lapanouse, who founded his watch company in Hölstein, near Basel, the Cimier brand has been revived since 2003.

Cimier 711 POP

Cimier watches are characterised by a good combination of tradition and contemporary design. One example is the 711 Pop, modern reinterpretation of one of the chronographs produced by the company in the 1960s, the Faux Chronograph.

Like the current model, this watch was distinguished by the unique positioning of the counters at 7 and 11 o'clock - hence the name 711 - combined with a telemetric scale on the flange and a tachometric snail scale in the centre.

The polished and satin-finished tonneau-shaped steel case is 39.5 mm in diameter by 14.45 mm thick, with retro-style pump buttons, is inspired by past models. The dial displays a palette of four vibrant colours: Tangerine, Cherry Blossom Pink, Aqua Blue and Lime Green. The case back, closed with eight screws and with a sapphire crystal porthole, reveals the automatic calibre CIM100 (based on ETA/Valjoux 7750), with 28,800 vibrations per hour and a 48-hour power reserve.

Cimier 711 Heritage Chronograph Pop: different dials and straps available

For the 711 Heritage Chronograph Pop, Cimier offers three different types of lacing on the wrist.

As mentioned above, on the dial one immediately notices the unusual arrangement of the counters, with the one for the chrono minutes at 11 o'clock and the one for the chrono hours at 7 o'clock. The counters themselves, with a black background, are guilloché engraved with a concentric circle motif. Indices and hands are treated with SuperLuminova. Protecting the dial is a anti-reflective sapphire glassbox.
