Chopard and the Mille Miglia

Chopard e la Mille Miglia

Exactly one month to go before the start of the Mille Miglia, the adventurous vintage car race that will cover 1,600 kilometres from Brescia to the finish line in Rome, passing through Ferrara, Siena and Florence. The event, in which more than 375 crews will take part, will be attended by the Co-President of the ChopardKarl-Friedrich Scheufele, flanked once again by his friend Jacky Ickx, Formula One world champion (pictured). For the occasion, on 15 May, the starting date of the race, Chopard's new Mille Miglia GT XL Chrono will be presented for the first time in Italy. It is available in steel or 18-carat rose gold and has a diameter of no less than 44 millimetres. The presence of integrated rectangular pushers and the tachymeter bezel emphasise the gritty and sporty character of the model, accentuated by the SuperLuminova treatment for the hour markers and hands, ensuring excellent legibility even in the dark. The dial is completed by two large Arabic numerals at 6 and 12 o'clock and counters at 6, 9 and 12 o'clock indicating the chrono hours, small seconds and chrono minutes respectively. The caseback is engraved with the route of the Mille Miglia in which Chopard has participated since 1988. Powered by a mechanical self-winding movement chronometer-certified by the COSC, the new Chopard chronograph is water-resistant to 10 atmospheres and is offered in a limited edition of 2008 pieces in steel and 500 pieces in 18-carat rose gold.
