Bulgari sets a new record for thinness. At just 1.70 mm thick, the Octo Finissimo Ultra Cosc is the thinnest mechanical watch ever made.
Bulgari sets a further record - the ninth - in the field of high-end mechanical watchmaking. The new Octo Finissimo Ultra, in fact, with a only 1.70 mm thick, it is not only thethinnest mechanical watch ever madebut also the world's thinnest Cosc stopwatch.
Such a result entailed a reworking the caseto reinforce the sapphire crystal, and the tungsten carbide back, which serves as the plate, on which the 170 components of the BVL180 manufacture calibre with manual winding (28,800 vibrations per hour, 1.50 mm thick).

Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra: limited edition
Only 20 pieces are available of the exclusive Octo Finissimo Ultra Cosc, the world's thinnest mechanical watch and Cosc stopwatch.
To maximise utilisation of the watch surface, the hour and minute counters, the large barrel - with a 50-hour power reserve - and the escapement are arranged in such a way as to slightly alter the circular geometry of the bezel.
It is a limited series of 20 with a titanium case and bracelet (and miniaturised Datamatrix on the case back, which provides all the data relating to the timepiece).
Octo Finissimo Ultra: also in platinum
The Bulgari Octo Finissimo Ultra Platinum is the thinnest platinum watch ever made.
The first Octo Finissimo Ultra in titanium, which was 1.80 mm thick, was launched in 2022. Bulgari took up a new challenge this year by also opting for platinuma material that is notoriously difficult to work with, due to its density, and the precision required given its thin dimensions. The new Octo Finissimo Ultra Platinum is therefore made of 950 platinum with satin, polished and sandblasted finishes for the case middle and bezel, while the case back-plate is made of tungsten carbide.
The bracelet is also made of platinum, with a satin finish, while the integrated clasp is made of titanium, to ensure greater reliability (tested to 5,000 cycles). Last but not least, this new model, powered by the in-house BVL 180 calibre, has an overall thickness of 1.80 mm, an unprecedented achievement for a platinum watch. The Octo Finissimo Ultra Platinum is also produced in a limited edition of 20 pieces.
