Bulgari, Serpenti's new small automatic heart

The new in-house automatic movement, the BVS100 calibre Lady Solotempo, opens up new territories of expression for Bulgari's women's watches, particularly the emblematic Serpenti collection.

Bulgari Serpenti

Saying Serpents is like saying Bulgari. It is the historical identity of the brand's jewellery tradition, a signature even more than an icon. Since the late 1940s, the Serpente with its coils has been reinvented by the skilled goldsmith's art of the Roman House through time. If in the 1970s mechanical movements, supplied by third parties, were replaced by the more subtle quartz ones, after 50 years the House has set its sights on a change of course.

Because after so much work on the Octo Finissimo manufacture calibres and so many world records, it was important for Bulgari to have the same focus on high jewellery watches. Already in 2020, the House had introduced on Serpenti the BVL150 Tourbillon calibre, one of the smallest tourbillons on the market. Then in 2022 came the Piccolissimo manual calibre, one of the smallest mechanics currently available. both these calibres are entirely conceived and produced in the Le Sentier manufacture.

Bulgari and Lvmh: Group synergies

A small all-female automatic movement.

Bulgari's challenge was to develop a movement that, in terms of size and volume, could perfectly fit the sinuous silhouette of the Serpenti case. Despite this, it is a calibre that can also be integrated into other Bulgari models. But not only.

Why the BVS100 Lady Solotempo calibre, developed and produced in the Le Sentier factory, will also be included in the future catalogue of in-house movements available to the other houses of the Lvmh group and will be produced by Zenith in its movement manufacture.
