Breitling will resume production on Monday

The Breitling production plant in La Chaux-de-Fonds, Switzerland, will reopen on Monday 6 April. This was stated by CEO Georges Kern during an Instagram live with journalist Viviana Shanks (Watchonista). There is no news on the Grenchen factory, however. Both have been closed since 19 March due to the Coronavirus emergency. Swiss statistics on the spread of Covid-19 now show that the peak of new cases per day was reached on 20 March and there has been a slow decline since then. "The question now is how to deal with the resumption of production in a way that keeps everyone safe. We will work in shifts, with the aim of bringing production back to 60% or 70%,' Kern explained. Breitling had already taken the decision not to participate in Baselworld or Watches & Wonders Genève before the Coronavirus spread. It is now preparing for a Web Summit, which will be streamed live on 16 April 2020 at 2 p.m. on Breitling's institutional website Breitling.com and on Breitling's official Youtube and Facebook channels, to unveil its novelties to the public.
