Yesterday as today: the Manta Heritage is a faithful reinterpretation of the iconic original 1978 model.
Breil Manta, a watch that originated in the 1970s as a highly technical diver model for diving, has always placed emphasis on design as well. Modern then, but still perfectly current, it continues to weave the thread of its narrative with two new Manta Heritage versions, faithful reinterpretations of the example launched in 1978.
Vintage design and new-generation construction techniques meet in a watch with a steel case finished in alternating polish and satin finish, which takes shape in the 38 mm sizea standard at the time, now back in vogue.
The Manta collection is a continuous stimulus for the creativity of Breil designers
Manta Heritage is offered in two versions.
Other vintage references are the slightly domed hesalite crystal with an additional lens for the date display and the Manta logo of the time, which appears at 6 o'clock on the dial. The latter, sober and easy to read, features large markers and luminescent hands to ensure excellent legibility.
Breil's Manta Heritage is available in two versions: a silver dial with vertical brushing and a steel bezel; a black dial in combination with a bezel with an aluminium disc in the same colour.
Keeping faith with its original sporting vocation, the bezel is of the unidirectional rotating type with a luminescent dot at 12 o'clock and water resistance is guaranteed up to 200 metres thanks to the screw-down back.
Retro look also for the Manta Heritage bracelet
For more than 50 years, Manta has been Breil's most iconic watch collection.
Directly from the Manta style of the 1970s and 1980s also comes the design of the five-link steel bracelet, polished in the centre and satin-finished on the outside. It features a diver's clasp with push-buttons and a safety catch. The movement is a TMI VJ42 quartz calibre.
The result is a beautiful blend of style and performance, echoing a Breil legacy of more than 50 years.
