Due to the high level of construction technique that characterises minute repeater watches (which determines their generally rather high value), many manufacturers include them in their collections as flagships, as a 'noble' product that attracts the attention of enthusiasts and connoisseurs of fine watchmaking.
Breguetwho really knows a lot about fine watchmaking, has come up with a new interpretation of this refined, yet complex, complication. In 2008, he presented an entirely redesigned movement adopting new materials and requiring new, different locations for the 'bells', bell-holders and hammers. This is the technique - patented - currently adopted in the 7637 minute repeater and its Haute Joaillerie version, the 7639.
The latter is a superb declination set with baguette-cut diamonds. A new "Clou de Paris" setting for the dial is inspired by Breguet's legendary guilloché gold dials. Thanks to its hardness and purity, the diamond is also a perfect conduit for transmitting sound vibrations to the outside of the case, and thus contributes to further enhancing the sonority of the watch by preventing the dispersion of vibrations as much as possible.
The case, dial, lugs and crown are studded with invisibly set baguette-cut diamonds, turning the watch into a real jewel.
