The world premiere on 21 January at the Cité du Temps in Geneva was the new Fifty Fathoms by Blancpain limited edition. Here it will be on display until 28 February as the flagship model of the exhibition dedicated to the most significant watches in this historic collection, from 1953 to the present day. Present at the world launch was freediving champion Gianluca Genoni (pictured below with Marc A. Hayek, President of Blancpain), who recently set a new world record in static apnea with oxygen lasting 18 minutes and 3 seconds.
Produced in a limited edition of 50 pieces, the new model has a white gold case and a cobalt blue dial, bezel and strap, a clear reference to the depths of the sea.
The watch is accompanied by a collection of art photographs dedicated to the underwater world.
