Among the novelties presented at the latest edition of Watches and Wonders is this Riviera, which combines steel, with blue PVD and grey ADLC treatment, with titanium.
On the occasion of the latest Watches & Wonders Baume & Mercier presented the new models of the Riviera collection, created in homage to the different facets of the Côte d'Azur, the line's source of inspiration.
The Riviera collection subverted the watchmaking codes of the time by adopting, in 1973, a case characterised by the use of an unprecedented dodecagonal bezel, combined with an integrated flat-link metal bracelet. It is an iconic timepiece even todaymore than fifty years after its launch, regardless of its colours and functions.
Our focus here is on the Ref. M0A10769 from the Riviera collection, with a 42 mm by 10.6 mm steel case, combined with a dodecagonal bezel made of titanium and secured by four Allen-headed steel screws.

The case, dial and strap of this Riviera are in blue, contrasting with grey and some golden details.
Both the case (in micro-sandblasted steel with PVD treatment) that the rubber strap is in blue, as well as the smoked sapphire crystal positioned in place of the dial. The latter element is decorated with a transparent wave pattern, also partially opens the movement to view from the dial side.
The aforementioned titanium bezel, on the other hand, undergoes a grey PVD treatment, tone also chosen for the ADLC treatment of the crown and back, which are in micro-bead-blasted steel. About the back, is fastened with four Allen-head steel screws and is equipped with a sapphire glass porthole. Finally, also worth noting are some elements in gold-plated PVD steel, i.e. the ring between the bezel and the case middle, the decorative element of the personalised crown and the flange, as well as the hands and indices.
