Five years ago, at the express request of its ambassador Michael Schumacher, the Formula 1 legend, Audemars Piguet took up the challenge of making a mechanical wristwatch designed specifically for motor racing. Today, this model, which is capable of measuring and indicating a series of times over consecutive laps, has become a reality. The pushers located at 2 and 4 o'clock are used to start, stop and reset the chronograph, while the one located at 9 o'clock stops one of the two chronograph hands while resetting the other hand and restarting it. This function makes it possible to time the lap just started while simultaneously recording the time of the last lap. At the heart of this model, with its titanium case, is the calibre 2923, a hand-wound mechanical movement. The Royal Oak Concept Laptimer Michael Schumacher will be available in a limited edition of 221 pieces, a number corresponding to the Formula 1 championship races in which the famous driver scored points.
