One of the brands that has been following a line of maximum creativity for years is undoubtedly Audemars Piguet. On the contrary, the Swiss manufacturer has long since chosen to show all the different souls of its production capacity at the same time, and has succeeded in fielding some great traditional classics, parts of the highest mechanical complication and technically uncompromising sports models, devoted to the pursuit of extreme performance in its Royal Oak Concept collection.

So full legitimacy to the choice of technology, and also great attention to the application of it in its models regularly on sale, although obviously limited in production numbers and with costs for the end user that are certainly not indifferent.

The production process of coloured carbon fibres involves numerous processing steps and considerable expertise

A Royal Oak Concept in coloured carbon with futuristic aesthetics.

The Chroma Forged Technology (CFT), developed in-house by Audemars Piguet's R&D team, allows the carbon fibres to be coloured directly instead of resin and arranged at will in the manufactured component, opening up new design possibilities. The new, non-porous CFT carbon, which does not lose its outstanding mechanical properties, provides outstanding resistance to moisture, heat and impact.

The result can be seen in the extremely light 43 mm case middle of the Royal Oak Concept Chronograph Rattrapante GMT Gran Data in forged carbon with touches of blue, whose brilliance is accentuated by luminescent fibres. Shades that the brand has blended well with the black ceramic of the bezel, crown, pushers and caseback, for an eye-catching two-tone aesthetic. The side guards are in sandblasted titanium. Following the same two-tone code, the flange and counters are highlighted in electric blue. The luminescence of the hour markers and hands turns blue in the dark.
