Until 28 February you can visit an exhibition tracing the history of Allemano Time, organised to celebrate the centenary of the Grand Hotel Sitea in Turin.
On the occasion of the centenary of the Grand Hotel Sitea, Allemano Time organises an exhibition dedicated to its history, hosted in the elegant setting of the Turin hotel. The exhibition is open to the public until 28 February. Founded in 1856 by Giuseppe Allemano, the company began its activity by producing machinery for heavy carpentry.
In the early years of the last century, then, under the leadership of his son Felice, Allemano specialised in precision mechanics, making measuring instruments such as pressure gauges and thermometers for the fledgling automobile industry. One of the first vehicles to be fitted with an Allemano pressure gauge was the Fiat 501 Torpedo in 1919.
100 years of the Grand Hotel Sitea
Allemano Time celebrates this important anniversary with an exhibition tracing its history.
The exhibition, set up in six showcases inside the Grand Hotel Sitea, retraces the salient stages of Allemano's history. Among the most striking episodes is the section dedicated to the legendary 'Grande Torino' and the famous clock that measured the 'granata quarter-hour', symbol of a glorious era for Turin football. Suffice it to say that Grande Torino, before the Superga tragedy in which the entire team lost their lives on 4 May 1949, won five consecutive championships, as well as an Italian Cup.
This exhibition organised by Allemano Time is the first stage of a project called 'The Value of Time', promoted by the Grand Hotel Sitea to celebrate Turin's entrepreneurial excellence on the occasion of its centenary. Allemano Time is therefore taking part in this celebration to underline the importance of continuity and innovation in the local industrial fabric.
