Montblanc UltraBlack is the brand's first collection that includes several product categories, from leather goods to writing instruments, from watches to new smart technologies, all united by a total black design. It also includes the new 1858 Geosphere, which celebrates the colour black by enhancing it with contrasting white and grey elements. This timepiece, which features the universal time complication with the two hemispheres in the form of rounded rotating globes that make a complete rotation in 24 hours and make it possible to read different time zones with the greatest of ease, has an original black steel case with a special satin finish created by manual washing and brushing, a technique that gives each watch its highly original patina. In the dark, the watch lights up thanks to the white SuperLuminova coating on the cathedral hands, hour markers, compass and hemisphere indications. The positions of the seven peaks and Mont Blanc are indicated by red dots on the two hemispheres, in homage to the Seven Summits mountaineering challenge. The caseback features an engraving of Mont Blanc in the centre, two crossed ice axes and a compass surrounded by the seven summits: Everest, Aconcagua, Denali, Kilimanjaro, Elbrus, Vinson and Puncak Jaya. In a limited edition of 858 pieces, it is on sale for 6,400 euros.
