The Fabergé Museum in St. Petersburg, inaugurated in 2013 with the aim of showcasing the beautiful pieces produced by the official jeweller of the Russian imperial court, will host the 84 watches competing for the next edition of the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève (GPHG) until 17 October. Numerous guests were present on the opening day of the exhibition, including watchmaking enthusiasts and authoritative personalities such as the president and director of the GPHG Foundation, Raymond Loretan and Carine Maillard respectively, Swiss ambassador Krystyna Marty-Lang, and Viktor Vekselberg and Vladimir Voronchenko, the hosts of the Link of Times Foundation and the museum housing the only private collection of Fabergé eggs. The watches on display, pre-selected by the GPHG's Academy of experts and divided into 14 categories, will subsequently be exhibited at the Musée Rath in Geneva where, from 23 October to 14 November on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the GPHG, the 20 watches that won the prestigious Aiguille d'Or from 2001 to 2020 will also be shown. It will instead have to wait until 4 November for the award ceremony of this year's Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève, at the Théâtre du Léman, after which the winning models will be exhibited first in Dubai and then in Paris.
