A. Lange & Söhne
Saxonia Thin limited edition

The watch has a beautiful solid silver dial coated with black aventurine, with copper-coloured particles making its surface shine. This is the first time that an A. Lange & Söhne has used this rare black aventurine variant. The aventurine manufacturing process was discovered in Venice in the 17th century. It is a glass with copper components. When heated, the copper forms microscopic crystals. In order to obtain a uniform surface, it must be fused with extreme care on the silver dial. The 18-carat white gold case is 40 mm in diameter and only 6.2 mm thick. The movement used is the manually wound IWC-manufactured L093.1 calibre: only 2.9 mm thick, it is the thinnest calibre ever made by the German manufacturer. This movement, which guarantees a power reserve of no less than 3 days, features all the characteristics typical of Lange calibres, including a three-quarter plate with Glashütte band polishing and bevelled and polished corners. In addition, three screwed and hand-polished gold bezels serve as bearings for the gear train that transmits energy from the barrel to the running section. The balance with freely oscillating screws, with a frequency of 21,600 vibrations per hour, is placed under the hand-engraved bridge. The watch is paired with a shiny black leather strap with an 18-carat white gold pin buckle.
