Venezianico used titanium for the first time to make a watch. The model chosen is the Nereide diver.
Venezianico expands the family of its diver models with a new version of the Nereide, which is also the first watch by the Veneto-based company to be made of titanium. After using special materials such as bronze and 24-carat gold, therefore, it is now the turn of titanium. And the House's reference to the historical and cultural landscape of Venice remains constant, as the new Nereid Titanium pays homage to the statue of Atlas, the titan who supports the sky, which stands in the courtyard of the Doge's Palace.
The 42 mm diameter case is therefore made of titanium, a material known for its lightness and strength. The production of the titanium cases of this new Nereid involves a meticulous process, starting with the purification of the raw metal, which is then transformed into ingots or bars, to arrive, through a mould, at an initial shape close to the desired design.
The material is precisely shaped using specific tools and cutting speeds, and then carefully hand-finished with attention to every detail and obtain the desired final appearance.
Venezianico Nereide Titanio: a very good value for money diver.
The watch, which is water-resistant to an impressive 300 metres, can be combined with two types of strap.
The 120-turn unidirectional rotating bezel with knurled edge is also made of titanium and frames, under the anti-reflective sapphire crystal, a dégradé dial that fades from central navy blue to black. Baton hands and hour markers are treated with blue-green SuperLuminova and at 3 o'clock is the date window. The markers on the bezel are also treated with SuperLuminova.
The watch, from weight of only 80 grams, is combined with a waterproof textile fibre strap and blue FKM rubber, with a customised titanium pin buckle. In addition, a second fabric strap is available (pictured below), also in blue, adding only 45 euros to the sale price.
The The movement adopted is Swiss Made: it is the Sellita SW 200-1 self-winding calibre, 28,800 vibrations per hour and 38 hours of power reserve. Finally, on the back of the Nereid Titanium, waterproof up to 30 atmospheres of pressure, here is a screen print depicting the mythological Atlas holding the world on his shoulders, an icon of strength and endurance.
