To celebrate the brand's 100th anniversary, Wyler Vetta presents the Tribute to Hermetic chronograph, in a limited edition of just 100 pieces.
Wyler Vetta celebrates 100 years since the first Wyler-branded watch was launched, produced in 1924. To mark this important anniversary, the brand presents thel Tribute to Hermetic chronograph, made in a limited edition of 100 pieces. It is a hand-wound mechanical chronograph in an exquisitely vintage mood, paying homage to to one of Vetta's most iconic chronographs, produced from the 1940s onwards: the Hermetic. It was also one of the first water-resistant chronographs in watchmaking history.
The Tribute to Hermetic by Wyler Vetta has the 38 mm satin-finished steel case and uses a Nicolet calibre N 6734 original from the 1970s, completely reworked and customised for Wyler Vetta: the same movement, mechanical with manual winding, is visible through the sapphire glass back.
Wyler Vetta Tribute to Hermetic: vintage details
Several design elements are inspired by the company's chronographs of yesteryear.
The dial with bar-markers and Arabic numerals almost faithfully reproduces the historical model. The positioning of the two additional counters, for small seconds and chrono minutes (out of 30 units), placed at 9 and 3 respectively, is as in the original model. As well as the two scales remain, tachometric (outermost, in blue) and telemetric (in red), along the edge of the dial.
Another homage to the Hermeticism of the 1940s is the leaf-shaped hands. Also of note is the chronographe' written in French, at 12 o'clock, just above the Wyler Vetta logo: a detail also found in the brand's very first chronographs. Another striking element is the domed, anti-reflective sapphire crystal. The strap, handcrafted, is alligator and is equipped with a pin buckle. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 10 atmospheres.
