Two of the entry-level models in the Classique Manufacture collection are updated, with revamped dials, a smaller diameter and two new in-house movements.
In 2023, on the occasion of its 35th anniversary, Frederique Constant launched an anniversary tourbillon and a new movement with power reserve, large date and moon phase. Both models were also produced with a platinum case and meteorite dial. This year, the company returns to focus on the entry level products in the Manufacture collection with a revamped design and a new 40 mm (previously 42) case: the Classique Date and the Classique Moonphase Date. For both, two completely reworked movements, even in the decorations, and a power reserve of 72 hours (compared to 42 hours previously).
"It is only since 2004 that we started the production of the movements. We wanted to be unique in what we do, that the Manufacture collection was in a price range where there was no competition, and that is still the case today, said Niels Eggerding, CEO of the brand since 2018.
Frederique Constant renews the dials of the entry-level models in the Manufacture collection
A power reserve increased to 72 hours for the Classique Manufacture.
The Classique Date Manufacture is available in steel three different dial colours: salmon, silvered or black; all with a soleil finish. Compared to previous versions, the dial is more essential and airy: away the numbers, making way for stick indices facetted diamond-cut and polished, leaving ample space for the date hand at 6 o'clock. The hands are Alpha type, to harmonise with the profile of the indices.
At the base of the FC-706 automatic calibre is the tried and tested FC-710 calibre, from which it takes about 90% of components. A new finish has been applied to the bridges, which have been entirely redesigned to accommodate the new high-capacity barrel guaranteeing a 3-day power reserve, or 72 hours. Price3,295 euro.
Moon phases and the date: a leading combination for Frederique Constant
A guarantee of up to 5 years.
There are also three dial variants for the Classique Date Moonphase Manufacture, which share the same restyling work with the Datesilvered, midnight blue, English green. The moon phases are integrated inside the date display. Again, the movement, the FC-716 calibre, has been renewed and the power reserve is 72 hours. Price3,895 euro.
The straps are made of alligator leather and the colours change according to the versions. For both new models, the company has extended the warranty to five years.
