Speake Marin presents a new Ripples, the original sporty-chic watch launched by the company two years ago with a steel case and integrated bracelet.
Designed by Stéphane Lacroix, Speake Marin's Ripples collection is distinguished by its 'La City' case inspired by the architecture of London's financial district of the same name, in homage to the brand's British roots.
The latest addition to this collection (presented by Speake Marin in 2022), consisting of sporty-chic timepieces made entirely of steel, is the model called Infinity Date, which adopts a metallic silver-plated dial, engraved with the characteristic 12 horizontal waves, satin-finished by hand.
And combined with the applied, rhodium-plated and polished baton hour markers, as well as the heart-tipped hour hand. Inevitable, between 1 and 2, is the small seconds display, one of the distinctive features of Speake Marin; there is also a date window at 6 o'clock.
Speake Marin Ripples: offbeat design
The original shape of the Ripples' case, combined with the dial with its distinctive wave pattern, make the watch highly recognisable.
The case has a diameter of 40.3 mm by 9.2 mm and a square bezel resembling a porthole, is the only one in the brand's collections to boast screw-down crown protection, decorated with the embossed House logo.
With an integrated steel bracelet, it is animated by the Manufacture automatic calibre SMA03-TD, with integrated tungsten micro-rotor and 52-hour power reserve when not worn on the wrist; its finish is visible through the anti-reflective sapphire crystal on the back.
Composed of 162 components, this calibre was developed and assembled in the Speake Marin atelier 'Le Cercles des Horlogers' in La Chaux-de-Fonds (Switzerland). It is equipped with an annular balance working at a frequency of 4 Hz (28,800 vibrations per hour). Finally, the water resistance of the Ripples Infinity Date is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres (50 metres).
