Omega starts the countdown to the Olympics and launches two new Speedmaster Chronoscopes, dedicated to Paris 2024.
The countdown to the start of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games has begun. In fact, there are just under 100 days until the start of this important sporting event, now in its XXXIII edition, and whose opening ceremony will be held on 26 July. Omegawho serves as the Official Timekeeper of the Olympics, celebrates the occasion with the presentation of two new Speedmaster Chronoscope characterised by the colours of the competition.
The new collection consists of four fittings in all, with a 43 mm case, all featuring the distinctive gold, black and white tones of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. These include a version made entirely of stainless steel with an anodised aluminium bezel, as well as a second variant with a ceramic bezel and case and bracelet made of 18-carat Moonshine gold. The latter precious material is a yellow gold alloy created by Omega, and known for its delicate and long-lasting brilliance. On the aforementioned bezel is the tachymeter scale, as is traditional for the Speedmaster.
A dial with two counters
The dial of the new Speedmaster Chronoscope Paris 2024 features two spiral scales.
These new Speedmaster Chronoscopes are equipped with a opaline silver dial with two central spiral scales in dark grey. These are the pulsometric and telemetric scales, which are in addition to the aforementioned tachymeter scale on the bezel, and thus allow for various measurements.
The additional counters, burnished and contrasting with the back, are two, for chrono hours and minutes at 3 o'clock, and for continuous seconds at 9 o'clock. The chrono seconds are at the centre. The Arabic numeral indexes are made of 18-carat Moonshine gold, a precious material with which the hands are also coated. To protect the dial, here is a domed sapphire crystal with interior and exterior anti-reflective treatment.
These new Speedmaster Chronoscope launched by Omega are the perfect tribute to the role of Official Timekeeper, which the Biel-based company has played since 1932. Homage that is also paid thanks to theincision, on the back, a medallion with a 'givré' base and a mirror-polished Paris 2024 logo, with the inscription 'Paris 2024' and the famous Olympic Circles.
