Sporty, with modern materials and a typically Italian style, the Aluminium has been representing the non-conformist and revolutionary spirit of Bulgari. Relaunched in 2020, with a design that remained faithful to the original, but with major technical improvements, it has continued to evolve with new versions, including special series (such as the editions dedicated to Ducati or the Amerigo Vespucci, pride of the Italian Navy).
The latest special edition is the fruit of a collaboration with Gran Turismo, a series of driving simulation video games developed by Polyphony Digital, a subsidiary of Sony Interactive Entertainment. A collaboration that translates first and foremost into the reinterpretation of the Aluminium chronograph in a racing key.
But also in the development of a full-scale concept car, the Bulgari Aluminium Vision GT, designed to virtually race in the world of Gran Turismo. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of the Vision GT programme, which pioneered the development of racing cars for the video game to the world's leading car manufacturers.
The Bulgari Aluminium Vision GT is a hypercar whose shape and materials echo the watch's unmistakable aesthetic codes. The rounded lines of the case, as well as the articulated bracelet with visible screws, mirror the design of the cockpit and steering wheel, while the body is in brushed aluminium with carbon parts and black rubber elements to protect the exposed areas.
The Aluminium Gran Turismo Special Edition 2023 watch, true to its predecessor, retains its sporty soul and stands out for its yellow details inspired by the dashboards of the legendary Italian gran turismo cars of the 1990s. The 41 mm aluminium case sports the characteristic rubber bezel engraved with the double Bulgari logo. Distinguishing it from the models relaunched in 2020 is the introduction of the tachymeter scale on the flange.
It is offered in two variants: with a yellow dial and black counters, in a limited series of 500 pieces; with an anthracite dial and yellow hour markers, limited to 1,200 pieces. The back is engraved with the "GT Vision 10th Anniversary" logo. The movement is the automatic B381 calibre, with a 42-hour power reserve.
