Speake Marin's One & Two Openworked collection has been expanded with the introduction of two new models featuring a sandblasted grey dial finish. These are the new One & Two Openworked Sandblasted Titanium and Red Gold, both available in two case sizes, 38 and 42 mm, made of polished titanium or 18-carat rose gold. The iconic Piccadilly case has been revamped by the famous designer Eric Giroud, and is fitted with a sapphire crystal both protecting the dial and on the back side.
The observer's attention is immediately caught by the dial, partially openworked, which offers the hour and minute indications in the centre (with blackened or gilded heart-shaped hands, depending on the case material) and the small seconds between 1 and 2 o'clock. Note the engravings on the barrel, visible at 5 o'clock, referring to the eight core values of Speake Marin, namely Respect, Indépendance, Liberté, Unique, Authenticité, Genève, Créativité and Modernité.
The watch is driven by the company's latest manufacture calibre, named SMA01 (28,800 vibrations per hour, 52-hour power reserve), a self-winding mechanical movement. It is a movement with an integrated micro-rotor, entirely designed and assembled in the Le Cercle des Horlogers workshops, of which Speake Marin is a shareholder.
Still on the movement, noteworthy are the numerous decorations carried out, which are of an excellent standard, and which concern the sandblasted bridges with polished bevelled profiles, the soleil and microbillé finishes of the oscillating weight (embellished with the brand's logo topping tool), secured by a bridge with a vertical satin finish. Both these components feature polished bevels and are gilded.
Water-resistant to a pressure of 3 atmospheres, the new versions of the One & Two Openworked Sandblasted by Speake Marin are secured to the wrist by a leather strap available in grey or black. The strap itself is fastened by an 18-carat red gold pin buckle or a titanium folding clasp to match the case material.
