Hong Kong returns to its role as the world capital of Asian trade fairs, reconfirming its position as the world's top business destination from 2023, thanks in part to the lifting of travel restrictions.
The Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair, together with the concomitant Salon de TE, will be held as part of the hybrid physical-online EXHIBITION model+integrating the intelligent online business-matching platform, 'Click2Match', which will be accessible from 29 August to 16 September.
The Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair is divided into special zones to meet the needs of buyers. Pageant of Eternity is dedicated to high-quality complete watches. Other important exhibition categories include components and packaging, smartwatches and machinery.
The Salon de TE, which will be open free of charge on the last two days (8 and 9 September), will feature famous watch brands and designer collections, divided into five themed zones: World Brand Piazza, Renaissance Moment, Craft Treasure, Chic & Trendy and Wearable Tech. In particular, World Brand Piazza, the main attraction, will display limited editions and rare watches from numerous prestigious international brands. Chic & Trendy presents fashionable watch brands; Craft Treasure mechanical watches and the impeccable craftsmanship of jewellery watches; Renaissance Moment classic and elegant watches from Europe; Wearable Tech offers a range of smart watches with the latest technology.
Highlight this year will be the theme 'Guo Chao': some prominent watchmakers from mainland China are invited to exhibit watches designed according to the highest craftsmanship of Chinese culture. Among them is Ma Xushu, a member of the Académie Horlogère des Créateurs Indépendants (AHCI). A series of events, including seminars and networking opportunities, will be held during the exhibition period in order to facilitate the exchange of information between key players in the global watch industry.
With the aim of stimulating and promoting creativity, this year HKTDC, Hong Kong Watch Manufacturers Associations Ltd. and Federation of Hong Kong Watch Trades & Industries Ltd. co-organise the 40th Hong Kong Watch & Industries Ltd. Clock Design Competition. Under the theme "Game Code" for the student group and "The Beauty of Perspective" for the open group, the winners will be announced at the exhibition and the winning pieces will be displayed in Hall 1 Concourse.
Scan2Match', which enables connections from offline to online, will also be introduced. Using the HKTDC Marketplace app, buyers can scan exhibitors' QR codes to add them to their favourites, get product information and chat with them even after the show.
