Omega is launching three new, sportier versions of the Seamaster Aqua Terra Worldtimer, two in steel and one in titanium, all with a new ceramic bezel. A common element is the layout of the dial, which features a representation of the Earth as seen from the North Pole in the centre. The latter is shaped using a grade 5 titanium plate machined using the laser ablation technique to create the ocean and leave the continents in relief.
The central 24-hour ring is made of hesalite glass with a day/night colour zone. The outer ring of world cities shows Biel, the brand's home city, as GMT+1. The city of London is highlighted in red by virtue of Greenwich Mean Time, now more formally known as Universal Time Coordinated (UTC).
The two steel versions are available with a metal bracelet or a green rubber strap with grey stitching. The green is echoed in both models on the PVD dial with sun-brushed finish, featuring the typical vertical teak pattern, hour markers and hands are in Moonshine gold.
More distinctive and even bolder is the titanium version, which combines the lightness of the metal with a look in shades of grey and black. In this case, it is the entire dial that is made by laser ablation and the only applied element is the word 'London', hand-painted in red.
The result is a combination of matt surfaces, on which, again by laser, the hour markers are burnished (with white SuperLuminova that emits a blue luminescence in the dark) and the cities are displayed in white. The strap is black structured rubber with grey stitching.
For all models, the case diameter, water-resistant to 150 metres, is 43 mm. The movement is the automatic Co-Axial Master Chronometer calibre 8938 with a 60-hour power reserve. The adjustment of all functions, including the wordltimer, is done via the winding crown.
Prices11,700 euros (steel with rubber strap); 11,900 (steel with metal bracelet); 13,600 euros (titanium).
