Following the launch of the Streamliner Centre Seconds Matrix Green, H. Moser & Cie. is extending the colour range of the dials in this successful collection with the launch of a new model with a dial named Smoked Salmon. This is a special edition that will only be available for one year.
The Streamliner Centre Seconds, whose design is inspired by the high-speed trains of the 1920s and 1930s, employs a 40 mm coussin case in steel, characterised by rounded curves and the absence of lugs.
Water-resistant to 12 atmospheres of pressure, this watch adopts an integrated bracelet also made of steel. Both the case and the bracelet feature polished and satin-finished surfaces, with the latter having curved links to best suit the physiognomy of the wrist.
What catches the eye most, however, is the aforementioned new smoked dial in the Smoked Salmon shade, a haute horlogerie classic. The special feature of this dial, with its griffé finish, is its colour, which varies according to the movements of the wrist and the light to which it is exposed, from chocolate to gold, through a wide range of shades.
On the same, protected by a slightly domed sapphire crystal, are the single baton hands, made luminescent through the use of Globolight (a ceramic-based material containing Super-Luminova), and combined with bar indices.
When the watch is turned from the back side, a sapphire crystal opens to reveal the IWC-manufactured HMC 200 calibre (diameter 32 mm, thickness 5.5 mm, 27 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour, power reserve of at least three days), which was designed, developed and manufactured in-house. This mechanical self-winding movement is equipped with a regulating organ manufactured by Precision Engineering AG, a subsidiary of H. Moser & Cie. With bridges decorated with Moser's double côtes, the movement is equipped with a skeletonised and engraved oscillating weight made of solid 18-carat gold.
