Mido's Ocean Star Tribute collection is the most popular in Italy in terms of sales. So Mido has decided to create a limited edition, available in only 200 pieces, and reserved exclusively for the Italian market. We are talking about the Ocean Star Tribute Italia (Ref. M026.807.11.041.00), which uses a 40.5 mm case in steel, combined with a unidirectional rotating bezel with a blue aluminium ring. The watch is also a tribute to the diver manufactured by the company in the 1960s.
The shade of blue was also chosen for the dial, which is characterised by the 'Gradient' effect, i.e. a gradient that gradually darkens from the centre outwards. Baton hands and geometric markers (as well as the reference point on the bezel) are treated with white SuperLuminova, and a date window opens at 3 o'clock. The sapphire crystal protecting the dial is of the glassbox type.
The crown (with sturdy protective and personalised straps) and the case back are screwed down. On the same case back, we also find the progressive number relating to the limited edition engraved. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 20 atmospheres (200 metres). The movement that animates it is the Mido 80 calibre (based on ETA C07.621, 11 ½'' diameter, 5.22 mm thick, 25 jewels, 21,600 vibrations per hour, rotor decorated with côtes de Genève and personalised), with a power reserve of 80 hours.
The new Mido Ocean Star Tribute Italia is combined with a steel bracelet on 11 rows of links with a folding clasp and equipped with an extension to wear the watch over a diving suit. Inside the case is an additional blue Nato strap with grey central stripes, metal loops and personalised pin buckle.
