In the 1970s, Allemano, well known for manufacturing measuring instruments of all types, also specialised in the production of underwater instruments with the Crab and Shark depth gauges. The key feature that made them unique at the time was the use of a stainless metal diaphragm, which was sensitive - thanks to the metal used - to variations in pressure and therefore particularly suited to providing highly accurate bathymetric measurements. With the Diver Shark 1973 collection, Allemano Time launched its first diving model as a tribute to those historic depth gauges.
The Diver Shark 1973 has all the characteristics of a thoroughbred diver, starting with water resistance guaranteed up to 30 atmospheres. The 42 mm brushed steel case is fitted with a helium escape valve. The highly legible dial has SuperLuminova luminescent hands and markers. The movement is a Sellita SW 200-1 automatic calibre, with a 38-hour power reserve.
In the new collection, the most distinctive model is undoubtedly the one with the yellow dial, a clear and direct reference to the depth gauges of the time that were designed, built and assembled in the historic Turin factory. Produced in a limited edition of 1,973 pieces, it is accompanied - in special packaging - by a modern re-edition of the historical depth gauge. It comes with a steel bracelet that can be replaced with a Nato military green fabric strap, which can be purchased separately.
Allemano's debut in underwater modelling looks very convincing, thanks to a robust and reliable watch. A perfect companion, both in deep dives and in casual settings, that shows a new side to Allemano's eclectic identity, recounted in the Boutique della Misura, the showroom in Turin's Piazza Bodoni, where the brand has chosen to return to direct contact with the public.
