The visible architecture of the movement is at the heart of Breguet's Tradition collection, a layout typical of the so-called "Montres de Souscription", which were those watches designed by the Master with a simple, robust, perfectly reliable and inexpensive construction, with a large diameter and a single hand. A style reminiscent of the past, therefore, which the House manages to combine with a contemporary aesthetic in the latest variant of the Tradition Quantième Rétrograde, combining the anthracite treatment of the bridges and mainplate with the monochrome blue of the hours and minutes sub-dial, placed at 12 o'clock.
The latter, crafted in gold and decorated in clous de Paris with hand-guilloché work, sports the unmistakable Roman numerals and "pomme" hands typical of Breguet production. Lower down is the retrograde date, also in blue, set by a screw-in corrector placed at 10 o'clock.
The new colour combination adds a touch of boldness and modernity to the classicism of the Breguet style with an aesthetic with a strong visual impact, the evolution of a collection that unconventionally characterises the brand's production.
The automatic 505Q calibre, with its silicon escapement, allows a glimpse through the sapphire crystal on the back of the case of the gold oscillating weight, whose shape is reminiscent of that on the perpetual watch created by Abraham-Louis Breguet in 1780. The 40 mm-diameter by 12.1 mm-thick case in white gold, with its typical cannelé workmanship, is fitted with a midnight blue alligator strap. Water resistance is guaranteed up to 3 atmospheres of pressure.
