Racing performance for Girard-Perregaux

From the collaboration between Girard-Perregaux and the Aston Martin Formula One team comes the new Laureato Absolute Chronograph, a blend of lightness and resistance at the same time. The 44 mm case fuses titanium powder and carbon elements taken from two F1 race cars used in the 2021 season; the compound resulting from their fusion is then mixed with a coloured resin that contributes to the watch's green reflections. The result is a material that ensures ductility superior to that of steel.

The same applies to the GP Rubber Alloy strap, which combines FKM rubber (a type of rubber mainly used in laboratories and industrial sites and suitable for use in extreme temperatures) and carbon elements also originating from single-seaters. Declined in the Aston Martin Racing Green colouring, it is endowed with a softness and resistance that are superior to traditional rubber. It is embellished with a fabric-effect look and a buckle with a micro-adjustment system that allows the wearer to adjust the fit on the wrist to their liking.

The dial, presented in the soleil "Aston Martin Racing Green" version, is adorned with cross-hatching, a motif reminiscent of the carmaker's 1921 "AM" logo. It is punctuated by openwork hands across the surface to give the design a sporty note, with a touch of lime green highlighting the chronograph hands to recall the style of AMF1 cars, while the counterweight on the central chronograph hand recalls the side air intakes used on several Aston Martin cars.

The Laureato Absolute Chronograph Aston Martin F1 Edition is also distinguished by the presence of a sapphire crystal porthole on the case back - a first for a Laureato Absolute Chronograph - which allows one to admire the automatic Manufacture Calibre GP03300-1058 movement. This is a limited edition of 306 pieces, a number that corresponds to the total distance that drivers Lance Stroll and Sebastian Vettel are aiming to cover on race day next 3 July at the Silverstone circuit (5.891 km x 52 laps), for the British Grand Prix 2022.
