Determined identity for Greubel Forsey

With the new Double Balancier Convexe, Greubel Forsey's sixth fundamental invention - that of the double balance - continues its evolution: the three regulating organs, i.e. the two balances and the differential, are now positioned over half the dial, creating an unprecedented depth. A structure that highlights the hand-wound movement, with the gear train emerging from the surface of the seemingly semi-circular black titanium bridge and extending towards the hour and minute hands above it. The semicircle itself has an asymmetrical shape, due to an opening for the barrel cover, the central hour and minute display and a space occupied by the small seconds display.

The engraved and lacquered minute markers are preciously set within the three-dimensional minute track, while the polished hour markers reach to the heart of the movement. Each hand is distinguished by its shape, finish and colour, depending on its assigned role. The hour and minute hands take on a curved profile and are coated with SuperLuminova to match the hour markers. The small seconds hand and 4-minute hand, in blued steel with a polished finish, indicate the speed of rotation of the spherical differential, while the power reserve is indicated by a polished, red-tipped skeleton hand.

The watch, christened Double Balancier Convexe, owes its name to the convex profile of the 43.5 mm titanium case, with integrated lugs that follow the lines of the wrist and extend to the textured rubber strap or, alternatively, the titanium bracelet. It will be produced in only 22 pieces per year between 2022 and 2024, for a total of 66 pieces.

Pricefrom CHF 295,000 to CHF 335,000 (excluding tax) for the version with a rubber strap and the one with a titanium bracelet, respectively.
