The new GMT 0º 'Terra Maris' Limited Edition from Isotope Watches was created in collaboration with Miguel Seabra, one of the most experienced watch and tennis journalists. Produced in a limited edition of only 49 pieces, this timepiece offers the date display and GMT function in a rather original way, inspired by the colour shades typical of maritime locations, namely blue and brown. In this regard, Miguel Seabra said he took his inspiration for the use of these colours from the place where he himself lives, Cascais, the westernmost point in Europe, where the land ends (hence the use of brown) and the ocean (blue) begins. Even the name of the watch, Terra Maris, comes from this reflection.
The watch employs a 41.5 x 39.5 mm satin-finished steel case (the thickness is 14.2 mm), water-resistant to a good 20 atmospheres, also thanks to the use of a domed anti-reflective sapphire crystal a good 3 mm thick and the screw-down crown; the back is closed with four screws. The sandwich dial, distinguished by the aforementioned blue and brown colours, features a circular date display and the disc for the GMT indication in the centre: both the home time-zone indicator and the hands and indexes are SuperLuminova luminescent.
The movement that animates it, manufactured by Landeron, hence Swiss Made, is mechanical with automatic winding. These are its characteristics: 28 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, 40-hour power reserve, precision of +12/-12 seconds per day. The watch is available with a leather strap or a steel bracelet. Finally, two curiosities: the presence of the discreet 'Terra Maris' inscription on the 24-hour disc in the centre of the dial, and the use of the city of Lisbon (instead of the more common London) as a reference for the respective time zone engraved on the case back.
