The 12 knights that serve as hour markers in the new Excalibur Knights of the Round Table from Roger Dubuis are hand-finished. Meticulously sculpted and crafted in 18-carat pink gold, the mythical knights each assume a different posture and are also visible from the side thanks to a sapphire crystal ring placed between the case middle and the bezel. The case of this new feat signed Roger Dubuis is also made of 18-carat pink gold and measures 45 mm in diameter. Note the particular shape of the crown, protected and personalised, which takes the form of a sword guard. Also noteworthy is the presence of black and red Murano glass, used to make the particular dial. Turning the watch (which has Ref. RDDBEX0934), the in-house-made RD821 calibre (11 ½'' diameter, 3.4 mm thick, 172 components, 33 jewels, 28,800 vibrations per hour, awarded the Geneva Seal), an automatic mechanical movement, comes into view, guaranteeing a 48-hour power reserve. On the subject of the movement, it is worth highlighting the presence of a new oscillating weight, which has been completely redesigned with a circular finish made up of two intertwined layers of pyramid shapes with broken lines, recalling the aesthetics of castle stained glass windows. Inspired by the triangular carvings on the bezel, this particular design choice provides a hypnotic view of the oscillating mass itself, which moves within the mosaic. All around is the engraving of the famous oath taken, according to legend, by all the knights who undertook to defend King Arthur: "Around this table the most valiant knights shall sit as equals. They will set out in search of adventure, doing justice, protecting the weak, taming the arrogant'. Water-resistant to 3 atmospheres of pressure, the new Excalibur Knights of the Round Table from Roger Dubuis is combined for the first time with a black calfskin strap equipped with a Quick Release System.
