G-Shock and Rubik's Cube announce the launch of the GAE-2100RC-1A, a new collaboration model produced in a limited edition that recalls the best-seller GA-2100. Thanks to the interchangeable case cover and a special screwdriver, the watch can change its appearance in seconds. The GAE-2100RC-1A features the innovative Carbon Core Guard Structure technology, which surrounds a case that pays homage to retro-style models, with its octagonal bezel framing the analogue-digital display. The watch comes with two case covers, one black and one white. The Rubik's Cube, invented in 1974 by Ernő Rubik, has become one of the most popular toys ever, with sales to date exceeding 450 million units. This famous cube is the favourite game of numerous world-famous personalities, including Harry Styles, Ryan Gosling, Justin Bieber and Will Smith. Casio said about this new collaboration: 'There are many synergies between G-Shock's way of creating watches and the iconic Rubik's Cube. A robust and appealing exterior with deep intricacies and the philosophy of 'never give up' make this collaboration a very natural fit". The resin case measures 48.5 x 45.4 mm and is guaranteed water-resistant to 20 atmospheres. The quartz movement that animates it is equipped with additional functions such as alarm clock, automatic calendar, dual time zone and world time, 1/100th of a second chronograph countdown timer. Finally, the dial is protected by a mineral crystal and is equipped with a separate illumination system for the analogue and digital components, guaranteeing optimal readability in all light conditions.
