Breitling has announced a three-year partnership with Six Nations Rugby. In particular, the Swiss watchmaker will act as official timekeeper for the Guinness Six Nations, the Women's Six Nations, the Autumn Nations Series and the matches in preparation for the RWC 2023. So for the first time in history, the collaboration also covers the women's championships. The Guinness Six Nations is rugby's most important championship and is renowned for the exhilarating matches played on the stage of all the federations involved, i.e. England, Ireland, Scotland, France, Italy and Wales, the current champion title holder. "Our watches guarantee high performance and inspire grand gestures, encouraging the wearer to live their passions to the full and with ardour," said Breitling CEO Georges Kern. "At the heart of the spirit of rugby is a fearless, no-holds-barred mentality, to which Breitling watches are a perfect match." However, it is not just the spirit that unites Breitling and the Six Nations: the partnership is in fact based on many other aspects: both aspire to achieve their goals through action, always with an ethos of teamwork, inclusion, integrity and creativity. And they also share a heritage: Breitling was founded in 1884, while the roots of Six Nations Rugby go back a year earlier, to 1883. This year's Guinness Six Nations takes place from 5 February to 19 March. From 26 March to 30 April will then follow the Women's Six Nations, which will see Europe's most talented players take the field. Breitling's presence in the sport takes on added significance as the watchmaker has recently recruited new members for its squad from each of the six nations: from England, Kyle Sinckler, from Scotland, Stuart Hogg, then Welshman George North, Irishman Conor Murray and former players Vincent Clerc from France and Martín Castrogiovanni from Italy. Former rugby union international captain and current presenter Sam Warburton will also join the Breitling Squad. In addition, Breitling will be involved in every single minute of action of the Autumn Nations Series in October, when the six European teams will open up against other rugby national teams from around the world, such as New Zealand, South Africa, Argentina and Japan. "The collaboration between Breitling and Six Nations Rugby is an exciting moment for all parties involved," said Six Nations Rugby CEO Ben Morell. "It's a collaboration of greats; an official chronograph in support of the women's championship, as well as a new and evolving partnership that will affect all annual Six Nations Rugby matches. Great credit in all this goes to the Union, to whom we owe the creation of these championship opportunities, and to Breitling, for the enthusiasm it has brought to every aspect of this collaboration."
