The new edition of Watches and Wonders will kick off on 30 March. Scheduled to run until 5 April, it will open the curtain on the watchmaking innovations of the 39 exhibiting Maisons gathered at the Palexpo in Geneva. Designed to adapt to the current ever-evolving pandemic situation, it will combine a real physical show, in compliance with health measures, with digital solutions that meet the market's expectations. Also available this year is the watchesandwonders.com platform, which will allow press, retailers and guests to access the private area to plan their customised programme.
Throughout the week, the Houses will hold Keynotes, presentations in the Auditorium. Announcements and speeches, mostly by leaders and brand ambassadors, will be broadcast live to the general public on the watchesandwonders.com platform and social media. Meetings with large groups of journalists will be replaced by "Touch & Feel" sessions of a dozen or so people, a much more confidential format to focus on products and discussions; alternatively, digital presentations will be held for journalists unable to travel to Geneva. For its second edition, the Morning Show will be broadcast live from the show every morning at 8.30 a.m.: the programme will include the highlights of the day and cross-talks between brand managers and experts to find out what's new and decipher new trends. Each day, around 6.30 p.m., a second programme, the Late Show, will cover many topics including a summary of the day's Keynote sessions and showcase some exceptional products selected by the exhibiting Maisons. Six 45-minute panel discussions, devised by Watches and Culture and available online and on demand, will address the topic of eco-responsibility from different perspectives thanks to the presence of high-profile industry figures and watchmaking experts. Watches and Culture will also curate the 'Time Design' exhibition dedicated to the evolution of wristwatch design through the centuries. Finally, tribute will be paid to the work of the genius Gérald Genta through a selection of designs and emblematic pieces.
