Patek Philippe - Calatrava Clous de Paris 6119

The Calatrava collection, the first in the history of Patek Philippe to be identified by a reference number (the figure 96), was created in 1932. Its essential design, inspired by the minimalist Bauhaus principle (according to which "the form of an object is dictated by its function"), has been interpreted in various versions over time. Within the collection's history, however, one variant occupies a prominent place: these are the models equipped with a Clous de Paris engraved bezel. Last year, Patek Philippe remembered its classic and renewed the Calatrava Clous de Paris by presenting the new Ref. 6119. The number pays homage to both the historical model 3919 and Ref. 5119, its direct predecessor. The differences, however, are quite a few, starting with the case diameter, which changes to 39 mm to meet current tastes that favour larger diameters. Also changing are the hour markers on the dial, which are now geometric in the 'obus' style, facetted and in 18-carat gold. The bezel, with a slightly wider beveled profile, is obviously guilloché engraved with a Clous de Paris motif and has a thin polished fillet around the "box" type sapphire crystal. New, finally, is the movement used, calibre 30-255 PS, a hand-wound mechanical movement, which has a larger diameter than its predecessor (30.4 mm, compared to 21.5 of the calibre 215 PS), while remaining extremely thin (2.55 mm). The new movement has two barrels connected in parallel, increasing the power reserve from 44 to 65 hours. The Calatrava with Ref. 6119 is offered in two versions, either with a pink gold case, a silver-plated grené dial with pink gold hour markers and hands, and a shiny chocolate brown alligator strap, or with a white gold case, a vertical satin-finished anthracite grey dial with white gold hour markers and hands, and a shiny black alligator strap.

Price26,150 euro (for both versions).
