With the Historiador 1519, Cuervo y Sobrinos pays tribute to the year it was born in its home city of Havana. The dial design, with its classic Breguet-style hands, is decidedly eye-catching: it is decorated in the centre with an Art Deco-inspired guilloché motif, on which the "Key to the New World", part of Cuba's coat of arms, makes its appearance, and is fluted on the flange where the minute ring is set, surmounted by facetted applied hour-markers. At noon is the applied CyS emblem incorporating shades of gold and red. The 40 mm steel case, with elongated lugs for optimal comfort on the wrist, houses Calibre CYS 5104 (base Peseaux 224), a self-winding mechanical movement with Côtes de Genève and circular-graining finishing and personalised on the oscillating weight, visible through the sapphire crystal on the back, with the three castles depicted on the Havana flag. The power reserve is 38 hours. The Historiador 1519 is available in three dial variants: dark blue, silver with blue details and silver with brown details. All models feature a shiny Louisiana alligator strap. Price: 2,500 euros.
