Designed at the same time, the Battista Tourbillon by Bovet 1822 and the Battista hyper GT by Automobili Pininfarina share the same design vision, based above all on innovation. The Pininfarina name is marked by a history that began over 90 years ago and is founded on design excellence and craftsmanship. Bovet, for its part, transposes this concept to the watchmaking field, thanks to generations of craftsmen who, for almost 200 years, have been creating watches characterised by meticulously finished details. These shared skills led to the collaboration between Bovet 1822 and Automobili Pininfarina, resulting in the Battista Tourbillon watch and the Battista hyper GT electric supercar. "For Bovet 1822, the human element is fundamental, just as it is for Pininfarina," explains Pascal Raffy, owner of Bovet 1822. "Cars and watches share the same values: design and performance. When you start a project and your only interest is the pursuit of perfection, your passions not only add up, they multiply'. The Battista hyper GT allows for a wide range of possibilities in terms of customisation, with 128 million combinations in terms of interior colour and materials used, to the point where the only limits could be the customer's wishes. Thanks to the expertise of Bovet 1822 and Automobili Pininfarina, all this has been taken to an even higher level, offering customers the possibility of expressing their personality and that of their tailor-made Battista by means of the Battista Tourbillon. "Ever since we got in touch with Pascal Raffy and the craftsmen of Bovet 1822, we have been mutually inspired by the opportunity to create another art form for customers who want the ultimate in design and watchmaking," says Per Svantesson, Chief Executive Officer of Automobili Pininfarina. "With the presentation of our first timepiece, we want to show another step forward in the world of artisanal watchmaking." The design teams of Automobili Pininfarina and Bovet 1822 have therefore worked side by side to create the Battista Tourbillon, an authentic expression of the design values shared by the two companies. The version of the Battista Tourbillon seen here employs a grade 5 titanium and sapphire crystal case measuring 45.6 mm in diameter; the watch will be produced in a limited edition of 30 pieces per type of material (titanium, red gold or platinum). The movement, equipped with a double-sided flying tourbillon device, large date display and power reserve display, is visible from both the dial side and the back. It is the calibre 16BM01TVGD (16 ½'' diameter, 400 components, 18,000 vibrations per hour, 10-day power reserve), mechanical with manual winding. The watch is covered by a 5-year warranty.
