Paying homage to Omega's 1940s chronographs is the new Speedmaster Chronoscope. In particular, the reference is clearly visible on the dial, thanks to the presence of the leaf-shaped hands and the two concentric spiral scales in the centre: these are the telemetric and pulsometric scales, while the tachymeter scale is located on the blue anodised aluminium bezel. Also on the dial, additional counters are dedicated to the chrono hours and minutes display (at 3 o'clock) and the continuous seconds display (at 9 o'clock); the chrono seconds are in the centre. This new hand-wound chronograph is powered by Omega's calibre 9908 (Master Chronometer-certified, coaxial escapement, silicon balance spring, resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 Gauss), a hand-wound mechanical movement with a 60-hour power reserve. The same movement is visible from the caseback side, which also opens up to view the beautiful guilloché Côtes de Genève decorations on the bridges. The new Speedmaster Chronoscope is available in two 43 mm case versions, made of steel or Bronze Gold. The steel variant comes in three dial colours: silvered, blue with contrasting silvered counters (the famous "Panda" dial), or silvered with black counters and red details, while the Bronze Gold version has an oxidised bronze dial with silvered counters. Finally, the steel variant is available with a leather strap (in blue, brown or black) or a steel bracelet with a patented quick-adjust system. Water resistance is guaranteed up to a pressure of 5 atmospheres.
